Final Blog of the Semester! Goodbye 435!

Monday was a very interesting way to see multiple different technologies. Being able to learn about all of them in such a short amount of time was a great way to compare some of the new device and new products coming soon to market. At the same time, watching the "tweet board" if I had missed a station that seemed to catch my eye I was able to go and talk to that person. I think the "tweet board" was a helpful way to stay connected and learn more about other stations before going and seeing what they had to offer. In a non-offensive way not all the technologies were of interest to me, and in the limited amount of time, I was able to visit the ones that I was most interested in because of the "tweet board".

I have not done my poster presentation yet, but after Monday I am actually excited to go! I think it will be fun! I have put a lot of work into my posters and I hope that my effort shows! I am excited to see the feedback!

On a final sad note, this will probably be my last blog. Blogging has been an interesting adventure for me. I have never done anything like this before, I can understand why many people blog, in the beginning of the class I felt it was a useless tool. Today, I feel it is useful and many people can benefit from it. However, I do not feel that at this time in my life, I do not have the spare time to continue on and keep up with a personal blog. I do however feel that I will look at personal blogs with a new outlook and not pass them by as a pointless, useless tool.

Goodbye Com 435!!!

Even the homeless can benefit from Technology

http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/12/01/horvath.homeless.website/index.html

This is a website of a man who once lived on the streets and was homeless. This man needed to find a way to make living. He needed to do something to pick himself back up, and he used technology for this purpose. He use a camera and video taped the homeless community and placed it on the internet. He was an activist for the homeless inspiring people to help the homeless. This man Mark Horvath used footage on social networking site. He is now a well known inspiring man. Technology can help anyone and everyone.

Anti-Fraud E-Ink Credit Cards

In an earlier post I spoke about my debt card number being stolen and used for a couple hundreds of dollars! It was so depressing and so upsetting. Well as I was surfing the web I found this site that has a new credit/debt card protection that is being worked on. It has not been brought to market but it is being worked on. Its call an Anti0fraud cred card w E-Ink Display. I did some further research with I am finding there isn't much information about this product yet, but once it comes out I will for sure apply for it. To see a little more information about go to the following website!

More Technology that Hates ME!

I just can't win, there is never a week where technology gives me a break. This week my computer started messing up big time! My screen keeps having these white lines and then completely going white. I have done a little research and my guess would have to be the Video Card in my computer. I have no idea what that is but I know it also makes a weird loud noise. That also can't be a good idea.

This is all I know about the card and my problem right now... but I am sending my computer home weekend and maybe I can have it fixed soon. Also hopefully I won't have to spend lots of money on this issue. If anyone knows anything about this please let me know and information you have! Thanks!

Contacts w Circuits

Well, I was thinking of my groups emerging technology... and its really neat! Contacts that have a circuit in them is extremely neat. Putting a GPS unit into a contact is impressive. I know they have only tested this project on rabbits but this is how technology continues into on the market. It is impressive with where we are headed in todays world.

The picture to the left is a picture of this contact in a rabbits eye, there seemed to be lil problems with eye from the contacts... seems like an amazing new way to get around and live ones life!

Motion Sensors are EVERYWHERE!!!

I can't believe it, I haven't had hardly any technology problems for awhile now! I am happy about it! But... I saw this short show on how everything in this bathroom was done by a sensor. The sink, and towels are normal to be on a sensor these days, but the doors were sensor, the soap, the flush, the lights, and the trash can! it was crazy to watch all of these things work off a sensor! I was so impressed with the direction that technology is going. This is the most hygienic restroom I have ever seen! I wish I could use this kind of a restroom! I would feel so clean! haha its an impressive step that the society is taking.

That website talks about different kinds of sensors and how they help save electricity as well. Motion Sensors are very environmentally friends to.
The picture is of a motion picture sink. It is amazing turning everything in to a motion sensor!
